Tagged: Six Quirks

Ok my sister-in-law Jill just started her own blog! YEAH! I'm so happy! So I went to check today and saw that I'd been tagged.

So here goes:

Six Quirks

1. I can't have my food touch. No seriously it's gotten really out of hand. I will get two plates if I have to.

2. When loading the dishwasher I have to have an equal amount of silverware in the tray! Crazy I know but what can you do?

3. I say I'm sorry all the time. It doesn't matter if I did something or someone else has done something.

4. I laugh whenever any one gets hurt. Myself included. It's my very first reaction.

5. When eating M&M's I have to have at least one of each color and I eat the rest of the M&M's first.

6. I live by expiration dates. I won't even consider eating or drinking something once it's past it's expiration date. Even if it's still fine. Steve usually finishes it or I toss it out.

Ok so now I tag: Gin, Jill G., Carianne, Suzanne, Katie & Dawni

Wiggle Waggle Walk

Saturday was a complete Blast! Sadie and I drove up to Fresno and we attended the Wiggle Waggle Walk. Team Hildebrand had the best shirts, provided by dear Aunt Suzanne. They were personalized and everything. The Team included Shane, Suzanne & Hotsy Hildebrand, Theron Toler (Suzanne's Dad) & Sasha (I think I spelled her name wrong), myself and Miss Sadie. As soon as we got there the smiling began and I don't think she stopped until she crashed in the car on the way home. There were so many puppies I thought either her head was going to explode or completely rotate off her shoulders.
They had all kinds of booths set up and they had an obstacle course set up for the Flying Ball Relay races. The puppies ran so fast that Sadie had a hard time keeping up with them. There were all kinds of dogs decked out for the occasion. I've included a couple of my favorites. Oh and No I didn't bring a puppy home, although it was very tempting.
There was a kids center set up that the kids could color and play a few games but inside this booth was a tidepool exhibit. It was a really small exhibit but Sadie LOVED it. They had star fish, which now they call Sea Stars since they are not technically a fish. and a few shells. With the look on her face I knew going to the Shark Reef in Las Vegas this Thanksgiving was going to be awesome.
We did the walk which was supposed to be 2 miles, but we think it was only 1 mile. I wasn't about to start complaining! And then we had a nice picnic lunch provided to us by the Wiggle Waggle people. By this time Sadie was so tired from not having a morning nap and all the excitement so we watched the Relay race again for a little bit and then we took Shane, Suzanne & Hotsy home. Here are some great pictures and a video of Sadie at the tide pool exhibit. Enjoy!

This is the back of our shirts with all the animals that sponsered us. The front of the shirt has a large dog tag with our name in it. They were really the best shirts there. I heard lots of comments on them. So I'm not just saying that. Suzanne is awesome!
Isn't it crazy what some owners will do to their pets? If you can't see the first letter it's a J. Spelling out JAVA.

She got a fun sticker for playing with the Sea Stars. (It didn't last on her bib for very long though. Everything and I mean EVERTYHING ends up in that childs mouth now-a-days.)

This dog was so beautiful and HUGE! It's paws looked like a lion's paw it was so big. This dog was part of the Flying Ball Relay Races.

Our first experience with a teething biscuit. Yes it was a fun mess to clean up.

Amazing Story

Thanks to my good friend Dawni. I thought this was an amazing story and wanted to share.

IRENA SENDLER

There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids.) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. ! Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most of course had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.
Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected. Al Gore won it for a slide show on Global warming.

The Hubby Tag

Ok I saw this on my friend Gin's blog (thanks for the idea Gin!) and thought it would be fun to do:

What is his name? Steven Charles Eastlick

How long have you been married? March will be 15 years, so technically 14 1/2 years

How long did you date? Well we were friends for couple of years and dated for three months and got engaged and got married three months later. So I guess 6 months.

How old is he? 39 and holding. He turns the big 40 next year on 09/09/09 Cool huh?!

Who eats more? Probably him but it's too close to call really.

Who said I Love You first? This is sad to admit but I don't remember. Probably me cuz that's just like me.

Who is smarter? Definitely Steve. Although there are certain things that I do think I'm smarter at but they are few and far between.

Whose temper is worse? Well we are pretty laid back, but I'd have to say mine I guess.

Who does the laundry? Me

Who does the dishes? Usually Steve but lately we've been taking turns

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Steve does, I need easy access to Sadie and the restroom. :)

Who pays the bills? Steve mostly. There are a few that I take care of but usually it's Steve.

Who cooks dinner? Well my chef, Steve of course. But lately we've been taking turns.

Who drives when you are together? Well usually Steve, but we've been carpooling during the week and I drive then cuz I have the car.

Who is most stubborn? Well I know Steve's response would be me. But I would argue that point...wait or is arguing the point making his point? Well he is also stubborn but I guess I should just concede and say I'm the most stubborn.

Whose parents do you see the most? My parent's visit more. But when we visit up North we spend equal amounts of time with mine and Steve's parents. We always stay at Steve's parents house.

Who proposed? Ok are you ready for this? Neither one of us. That's right. Technically I brought up the subject by relaying a conversation between myself and a friend. Here's how it went:
Tam: "You know everyone in town thinks we are getting married."
Steve: Ok
Tam: What do you mean OK? Ok to getting married?
Steve: "Sure"
Romantic huh?!

Who has more friends? Me. I'm a social butterfly and Steve is a recluse!

Who has more siblings? Me. I have 6 Brothers and Steve has 3 Sisters

Who wears the pants in the family? Well right now it's neither of us....it's Miss Sadie. But usually it's Steve.

Ok now I tag Jill Galyan, Carianne, Susan & Suzanne. You're it. I'll be checking your blog. :)

Sadie's Big Achievements

So Sadie hit a few milestones this weekend. Not only did she turn a big 8 months old and discover she can make a new sound with your tongue (clicking), she also
Stood Up By Herself!
Yes I know what you are thinking...she's a genius and she's going to find the cure to some disease. No wait that's me thinking that! HA!

Well as you know Sadie and I are going up to Fresno next weekend to do the Wiggle Waggle Walk (2 miles) with Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Shane. So me being the lazy butt that I am decided I better at least try walking a mile so I don't make a complete fool out of myself. So Saturday morning bright and early Sadie and I got dressed and went to the church. I drove the parking lot to see how many laps I'd have to do in order to make a mile and found out 4 laps around the parking lot is a mile. So off I went. It wasn't as bad as I thought but after 27 mins and walking a mile my back was hurting. So we packed it up and went home. Which by the way Sadie slept almost the entire time!

We got home and Steve was just finishing mowing the lawn in the back. So Sadie finished a bottle while we waited for him to finish. Then we played in the back yard. That's when she stood up by herself. She also discovered her shadow which was pretty funny too. So Sadie stood three different times and on the last try she actually didn't fall down she elected to go back to the crawling position however. Later on that evening she also stood up in the house by herself.

It's not going to be long now!! And life as I know it will be over!!

Sadie is also discovering she can makes sounds. She has started singing and Steve taught her how to purr I guess is the best way to describe it. She's rolling her R's. Well the past week she's also discovered she can click her tongue and make all kinds of sounds too. She's also discovered she can fold her tongue. It's very funny.

Now you're probably asking yourself, 'did she get this on tape?'. Of course I did and I'm going to bore you with the videos too. Here are a few pictures commemorating her 8th Month birthday and her big achievement.

Happy 8 Month Birthday Monkey!

(Isn't her outfit and hat so cute?! I love the hat. It makes her look like a flower.)

Shane & Suzanne

Well Friday after work Sadie and I drove up to Fresno. We went to Aunt Suzanne's Parents house for dinner and to visit. Mom and Dad arrived shortly after we got there. It was nice to visit with Suzanne and her family. Kim, Jackie and Tammy, Suzanne's Sisters were there as well. Little Ezra was sleeping.

Sadie had a power nap on the way up so she was ready to go when we got to the house. After we had dinner and visited we headed back to Shane and Suzanne's where we visited some more. Poor Sadie didn't go to sleep until 12am. She was a trooper though. She got up at 7am the next morning and wasn't cranky. She just played and watch little Einsteins.

I left to go and take my Notary Public Exam. Yes it's true! I took the test and hopefully will find out in about 10 days if I passed or not. It was crazy though. There were 52 people who took the exam. I got there at 9:30 and was inside by 10:15. The test was supposed to start at 10:30am. They didn't even start handing out the tests until 11:20 am. I was so tired so I napped while I waited. Once we received our instructions to fill out the tests and we actually were able to start the test, it took me literally 10 mins. So I got out of there at 11:45am.

Travis flew in and was running a few errands with Shane and then we all met up at Shane and Suzanne's house to get ready to go to the Temple. Sadie was loving Suzanne's best friend Lindsay. And loved Aunt Suzanne's glass. It must have felt good on her tooth. You could here it clinking on the glass. Then we all got ready and left for the Temple. Here are some pictures.

Sadie in her stroller at the Temple. This was the first time we have put her in the stroller this way. Usually she's in her carseat and it sits on the stroller. She really enjoyed the tray.
Here you can see that she is trying to chew on the tray. She loved pulling herself up and back too. There was just enough give that she was able to rock a little in the stroller.
This is Baby Ezra. Suzanne's nephew. He is so cute. Lindsay is holding him. She was a hit with the babies. Thanks Lindsay!

This picture is actually a picture of my Mom and Dad with Sadie but I really loved the expression on her face. She was such a good girl for having very little sleep.
Momma and Sadie. Don't you love the face?!

Now here are all the family pictures at the Temple.

Ok so after the Temple we all went back to Suzanne's Parents house for dinner. It was wonderful. After dinner Jackie started us all singing the Happy Birthday song but we changed the words to Happy Sealing. So take a look. It's pretty funny!

Daddy's Birthday Party

So last night we got Take Out from Olive Garden. Yummy!

We tried their new Grilled Chicken Flatbread. It was really good.

Then Steve wanted Carrot cake with Cream Cheese Frosting so Monday night I made the cake and last night I frosted it. I found a new recipe for the frosting and it really turned out well.

If you know me then you know that when it comes to Birthday's I have two rules. You must have the "Happy Birthday" song sang to you and blow out a candle and you must have something to unwrap. Simple Right?! Wrong!

Well low and behold I didn't have any birthday candles. So I decided we would use matches. Well it took us most the night to even find the matches and when we did I didn't light them right so Steve had to help me. Steve had Sadie in his arms while I sang "Happy Birthday".
Here's the video.

Here's a picture right after Steve Blew out his "candles"
Then we went into the living room and Steve opened his birthday present. Keep in mind things are kind of tight right now like so many of us and we had very little money. I really wanted to get him some new sunglasses but was unable to. Well while we were looking for the matches I found an old pair of "The Rock" sunglasses we got years ago. We never opened them and they were in a tube so I thought it would be funny to put his real present, A ratchet (great present right? well it was a craftsman ratchet and he asked for it), in the tube with the glasses. Here is the video of him opening the present and his reaction.

Afterwards it was time for Sadie's bottle. So I made it and gave it to her and this is were she decided she wanted to lay while she ate it. She is a nut! Oh and you can't see it but she bit herself last night and drew blood. So we had to put a bandaid on it to stop the bleeding. Then we took it off so she wouldn't choke on it. She kept trying to chew her fingers. So be careful the next time she sees you, her teeth are sharp.

Bubble Wrap

Well Steve got a special package from his Mom for his birthday. A Yummy Snickerdoodle pie. Luckily for Sadie it was wrapped in bubble wrap. She was fascinated.

Here are a couple of videos. Enjoy!
