Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun relaxing Memorial Day weekend. We also had company. Rigby & Whiskers came to visit us for the weekend (They are my brother Shane's dogs). We had a nice time and the weather was perfect. We played on the Zebra and also played in Sadie's new kiddie pool.

Our thoughts were with those Military Men and Women who have served or are currently serving our great country. We are so very thankful that we have the privilege to live in the free country. My thoughts particularly were on friends and family who have served this great nation. Both my Grandfathers. Lindsey served during World War II and Albert who served during the Korean War. My husband Steve who served in the Navy, My sister-in-law Karina who served in the Navy for 20 years before retiring, My friends: Theron Toler, Mark (Katie Doll's Nephew), Dude Zamora, Jason Brown, Jessica Yett, Blake Harpel, Andrew Elms, and many others whom I probably forgot to mention. I am so grateful to you all for your sacrifice. I thought about you all at some point this weekend. Thank you.

New Friends & New Escapes

Sadie stuck.
She was trying to sneak into the kitchen.
She was struggling to keep the step stool up.

Sadie's New Hiding Place

Sadie stuck in the doggie door

Yep she finally figured out that she could fit through. The bad news was she could only get 1/2 way before she freaked out.

On Sunday we got Sadie's Zebra out.

She had a great time riding it.

Our Silly Spinning Sadie

This morning Sadie was in a really good mood. Yesterday she started spinning. You know like when you were a kid and you'd stick your arms out and just twirl. Well that's what she is doing now (except the arm thing). Last night she started twirling and fell and busted her lip open again. But here are a couple cute pictures from this morning and fun video.

Mother's Day & Photo Shoot

Sunday, May 10, 2009
Mother's day was great. Sadie was an Angel at Church and I had a lovely card waiting for me from Sadie and Steve when I got up. Steve made a great steak dinner and I worked on my business plan and updating my blog. It was a nice and relaxing day.

Saturday, May 9, 2009
Saturday was my first photo gig since I got my camera. I got to go over to my friends, the Kirklin's and take pictures of Jordan while she was getting ready for the Prom. It was alot of fun. And I'm so glad everything went well and the pictures I think turned out pretty good.

Cinco De Mayo with Rylie Jane & Fake Sneezing

On Monday, May 4, 2009 Sadie was extremely sick with the flu. Don't panic it was the regular flu and she is fine now. So that started the week out with a bang. I also probably explains her attitude on Saturday and Sunday.
Anyway on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 we got a call from our daycare provider. Her daughter was in labor so she wouldn't be able to take the kids today. So I stayed home with Sadie and Rylie Jane got to come over to play too. We had a great time. We played tea party, watched play house Disney and got to play outside. Which is something they don't usually get to do at daycare.

Later that night when I got home from work, (Steve & I split shifted) Sadie and I were sitting on the couch. She sneezed and I said Bless you. This apparently tickled her and the rest you'll be able to see in the video. The video is a couple of minutes but she did this for a full 5 minutes.

Sunday Nap

Don't you miss the days that you could just come home from Church have a great meal and go to bed? I sure do!

The Reception & Our Crazy Child

My cousin Christy Blakley got married on March 27, 2009. (The day before Steve and I's 15 year anniversary) Well they had a private ceremony and decided to have a BBQ as the reception. (GREAT IDEA!) So on Saturday, May 2, 2009 I got Sadie dressed and we headed out across town to the BBQ.

She looked so cute. I couldn't stop taking pictures of her. Everything worked out perfect until we got to the BBQ. I got out of the car and realized that she needed to be changed. So I cleared the trunk out and changed her. I put everything back in and we were on our way.

Now keep in mind when I say across town I'm talking out in the ranch area. Dirt roads, farms, animals the whole thing. So while we are walking Sadie discovers the goats. I should have just packed up at that point and went home but I didn't. All she wanted to do was play with the goats.
I was finally able to pull her away (kicking & screaming) from the goats and headed into the yard for the BBQ. All she wanted to do was play with the 8 year kids or in the flower beds.

Luckily Krissy, Nick & Beau were there so Sadie got to play with Beau. Now for those who don't know the crazy Sadie side, anytime you make her stop doing something right now she starts to scream. So everything time I pulled her away from the flowers or the big kids she'd throw a fit, and not a quiet one.

I was able to find this basketball which she really enjoyed carrying around. But I was fighting a losing battle.

Poor Beau. Every time he tried to play with Sadie and the ball she'd flip out.

So finally after an hour of a kicking & screaming child, I packed up and headed home. I was completely and utterly embrassed. I didn't even get to say hi to Christy or Neil and wish them happiness. She must have known I was upset because she was absolutely quiet all the way home. And she kept looking at me with concern on her face.

So when we got home, she was still wound up but at least she wasn't screaming anymore.

Then she discovered the nasal aspirator.
Her nose had been running all afternoon so Steve thought he'd try and suck her nose out.
YEAH RIGHT!
All she wanted to do was eat the thing.
Then while I was making her dinner, Steve told me to come in the room with the camera.
She had gotten herself stuck in her toy piano. She had tried to crawl through it and tried to stand up half way through.

She managed to stand up but with herself in the middle of the piano.
FREEDOM!

I'm Still Here!

Sorry for all the posts today. Things have been really busy for me the last few weeks between working on my new business, my work being crazy with lay offs all the while I'm swamped with work to do & Sadie being sick. Needless to say during the week I just don't have enough energy to log on and update.

Things are going good. I still have a few more things to post about, but it's late I'm tired and blogger is really irritating me right now.

Be on the look out for the following posts
  • Christy & Neil's Wedding BBQ with the screaming hellion
  • Cinco de Mayo with Rylie Jane
  • The Fake Sneezing video
  • My First Photo shoot gig
  • The Unknown Rash
  • Mother's Day

I hope all the Mothers, Grandmothers, Sisters, Aunts, & Friends all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Happy May Day

Friday, May 1st Sadie awoke at the crack of pre-dawn. Around 4:30 am to be exact. But none the less she was in a great mood. So to celebrate May day, I got some great pictures as well as a cute singing & signing video.

Singing & Signing

Of course with having gotten up pre-dawn she was out early. She loves her teddy bear!
