Reading and Dancing

We got to have Atley come over one evening for a play date and this is what the girls decided they wanted to do. They are too cute!

The other night Sadie asked me to read to her. She has these little board books that she totes around in her back pack. She knows them by heart. Here is a video of us reading together.

Birthday at Disneyland

For my birthday we decided to head down to Disneyland. This time getting Steve and now Sadie a pass so we can go more often as a family. Sadie had no idea where we were going until we pulled into the parking garage and she said, "Am I going to Disneyland?"

After getting the passes all taken care of we headed over to visit the princesses. Here is Sadie with her Belle dress on.
Steve is such a good Daddy. He stood in line while I kept Sadie entertained. I think she had more fun going back and forth from Steve to myself though.
At the front of the line waiting patiently so meet the princesses
All the princesses were very interested in her dress and her pretty bows. They were really good with Sadie and Sadie loved it!
Meeting Snow White and Aurora for the first time.
Do you think I could actually get a shot of Sadie looking at the camera? uh no!
The we ventured over to King Arthur's Carousel.

After that we went to California Adventure. She has never been there before so we showed him all around.
Sadie got to see Mickey and Pluto outside of Bug's Life 3D show
I have to say that Sadie had so much fun with Steve there this time. She had to show him around and go on the rides with him.

We took Sadie on the Jungle Cruise this time. I hadn't taken her before. It was right before she had a nap so she wasn't very interested in it. Didn't flinch or anything. It was pretty funny watching her look around saying "ok so what" haha. ok she really didn't say that but her expression did!

On our way home we got her a couple of balloons. She got a little spoiled this time. But it was for her birthday as well as mine.
It was one of the best birthdays ever!

Sadie's 3 year Check Up

This afternoon we loaded up to head to Sadie's doctor for her annual check up.
When we got there I hadn't planned on all the things they did this time.
They took her blood pressure, did a hearing test and checked her eyes.
We found out that Sadie has two slight stigmatisms in her eyes. The doctor said it's nothing to worry about right now and that we will monitor it over the next year.
This time she actually got to wear a gown, which she was very proud of. They even had her pee in a cup. Which has caused a lot of trouble on the home front. Apparently since she did it at the doctor it's ok to do it at home. Um NO! So we had to have a chat about how that only happens at the doctors office.
She is 38.25" tall and weighs 38.25 lbs.
She got a shot and they pricked her finger for her iron test, which came back excellent.
We have ourselves a very healthy girl. The doctor was very pleased and impressed with her vocabulary and sentences.

Tea Party

One of Sadie's favorite birthday gifts was a tea set she got from her cousins, Beau and Benjamin. She has been constantly playing tea party since her party. So Virginia and I decided to do an impromptu tea party and get some pictures.
Of course the girls were very happy to oblige us.

Sadie's Birthday Party

Saturday we had all of Sadie's friends come over to help celebrate her birthday.
All the girls loved singing and helping to blow out the candles

I think everyone enjoyed the cake.

While we were dishing up the cake Sadie snuck over to the corner and started opening her gifts.
So then we went ahead and opened the rest

We played pin the bow on Sadie as one of our games.
The kids loved it!
We also blew bubbles. Lots and lots of bubbles.

These bubbles are the cool ones from Gymboree. They last a long time and don't pop as easy. Here Tiffany managed to catch bubbles on the end of her finger tips. It was pretty cool.

We had a blast and are thankful for such wonderful friends and family who helped us celebrate Sadie. Our lives just wouldn't be the same with out her.

Sadie's 3rd Birthday

Can I start off by saying I can't believe it's been 3 years already!
She is such a beautiful girl inside and out. She has never met a stranger! She loves anyone and everyone she sees. She has lots of friends and loves to play and visit with them.
She has such a great vocabulary that sometimes she takes us a bit off guard. She is a smart little whip too. She takes after her Daddy in that respect. She is a mocking bird right now and loves to talk. Heck she loves to make noise. whether it's talking, singing or picking up lids and playing her "tambourine". She loves music and loves to dance.
She loves her Daddy very much. This picture is her reaction to seeing him walk out of his office. This is pure joy and you can't fake that kind of love!
For lunch on her birthday we headed up to Steve's office and had a picnic in the back of his truck. I laid out a table cloth and brought pb&j sandwiches and her chips.

Well I decided to try my hand at a "themed" birthday cake. She loves anything fairy related so this was my attempt. I think it turned out pretty good.
We weren't going to have a party for her this year because we were planning on going to Disneyland but I couldn't deny her the chance to have all her friends over to play.
After dinner we let Sadie open up her gifts from both grandparents.
She was pretty excited to unwrap the gifts.
But her face was lit up when she opened her card and a princess sang to her.
She was extrememly excited for both of these dolls. Gma & Gpa E got her the Ariel barbie and Gma & Gpa H got her the Ki-lan doll.
Needless to say she didn't put the dolls down after she unwrapped them.
Not even when it came time to blow out her candles.
I can't believe my baby is 3. We are truly blessed to have her in our lives! And it's definitely never a dull moment around here with her around.

New Year's Eve/Day

Our New Year's Eve was pretty uneventful this year. Although I did manage to convince Steve to stay up until midnight at least.

New Year's day Aunt Mary came over for a visit while we ate pizza and played Sadie's "Dancy dance game".

Here is a video of Sadie and I bustin' a move while I was playing "Dancing with the Stars"
