Sadie & the Dogs

Sadie trying to get the dogs to play
"How's my form Uncle Travis?"
She just kept making laps around the yard, yes like the dogs!
Look at this face...isn't she too adorable?!

Daddy's Little Helper!

We finally have a house big enough for our dining table! So Steve was putting it together and low and behold guess who sat herself down right in the middle of the action.

She was a big helper!

Kern County Fair 2009

These are the pictures I entered into the fair this year. They were all dropped off on Saturday the 19th to be judged. Here are the titles of the pictures:

"Flower of my Heart"

"Beauty & the Beast"

"When I Grow up..."

So last night was free admission from 3-5pm. Well we were stuck in traffic for 30-45 mins therefore were unable to take part of the free admission. But Sadie was already there as her daycare went to do all the free kid stuff. So after we got Sadie we headed to the photography exhibit. It took us a while to find my pictures but here they are...

It took us a while to find this picture but it was so worth it....
I GOT HONORABLE MENTION!!!!!
I am so excited. I don't get a ribbon but it's better than not being recognized.

Sadie & Steve walking around the photography exhibit
When we came out of the exhibit we noticed there was a dance group getting ready to perform so we decided to sit down and watch. While we were waiting Beau, Krissy & Nick found us. So we got to visit for a few minutes until the dancing started.
Here is Beau and Sadie watching the performance
Sadie was very much into the show (ignore the dirty face)
The Dancers (They were great & funny)
At the end of the performance the dancers got down and danced with everyone (mostly kids). Sadie LOVED it! She did really well with the dancer too (lady in the green shirt)
Learning the steps
Dancing with the other kids
Here is a little video of Sadie dancing. It's short but cute!

Gettin' down low!
On our way to the car (Really I did clean her face several times)
On our way home. She was EXHAUSTED!
Ok so I made Steve take a picture. It was really funny cuz where the camera was you could see the screen in the rear view mirror. This was the best one. You know Steve...he has to make silly faces. UGH!

Why I Deserve To Be Treated Like A Princess
by Sadie Abigale Eastlick
My name is Sadie & I am 20 months old. I love all the Disney Princesses. I love to sing, dance and make people happy. I love people and I’ve never met a stranger. My Mommy & Daddy call me their little princess so it must be true! If you are sad, I always have a smile and hug. I don’t know anyone who couldn’t use a smile and a hug. And if I can brighten your day, I will. And isn’t that what Princesses are supposed to do? Help people? Please pick me. You won’t regret it. Thank you!

There is a contest being put on through our local newspaper The Bakersfield Californian. October 2, 2009 Disney on Ice: Princesses comes to town. They are offering a Royal Treatment Package, which includes 8 front row seats, a $200 dinner voucher, a 4 hour limo ride & back stage passes to meet the Princesses. All you have to do is submit a picture and a short (100 words or less) essay explaining why you feel you deserve to be treated like a princess. So this is our attempt. You can't win if you don't enter right?! That's my feelings on the subject anyway.

Daddy's Birthday Weekend

So we had a great weekend this weekend, celebrating Steve's 40th Birthday! Friday night we were going to go to John's Incredible Pizza but we went with our friends, The Olsen's, to a 50's Party. We got there and they had a live band which was great and a couple of dance numbers. But the food was nothing to brag about.

So we only ended up staying for a little while and then we headed to the Elephant Bar. Now if you remember the last time we took Sadie out it didn't go over too good. Well this time she did ALOT better. Luckily Elephant Bar is pretty nosiy anyway so I didn't really feel bad at all. We parked Sadie in between the two of us and we had a lovely dinner. (My steak was the bomb)

Saturday we were a bit lazy. I started the mountain of laundry while Steve starting putting stuff away. He also made a flying trip to the old house.

Sadie loving on Daisy

She was in a very lovey mood because she wasn't feeling very well.

Wearing Grandpa's Sweet Pea T-Shirt. It's still a little big but it's a cute night shirt

Saturday night we met the Olsen's at John's Incredible pizza. We had a great dinner. Steve and Sadie played all the fun games and rides. Sadie wasn't liking the Carousel horse ride until right at the end.

I was actually proud of her for hanging on. I was afraid she was going to launch herself. But she did good.

Sadie's quick Horsey Ride

Sadie & Steve looking at all the games

I know this is a horrible picture of Steve (ok all of us) but it's the only family one we got.

Steve playing the football toss game.

He did a really great job!

Sadie really like a jump rope game. Steve and I both helped her jump rope. She really liked it and when we left she was not a happy camper as you can see below.

Labor Day = Moving Day

Friday, Sept 4th
Sadie and I went to the new house after work on Friday so I could start wiping down the cabinets in the kitchen so Saturday we could start putting stuff away.
This was the first time Sadie had seen the new house and she was very excited about all the space. We got to play with Atley and Virginia for a little while and then we went straight to work.

Sadie discovered that she could fit inside the cabinets and there was lots of room for her to hide out. She LOVED it! She played while I cleaned and she even helped clean too.

Peek-A-Boo
Mommy and Sadie taking a break. Don't I look lovely?
Sadie really like the entry way and how there was a big hole in the wall.
Trying to figure out how to close a double door.
Yes my doors will never be clean. I'm just saying the girl is constantly either pressing her hands or face against it to get her Daddy's attention.
Just the right height
Looking out the front window to see watch Atley & Gin leave.

Saturday, Sept 5th

Saturday Sadie was all about DeeDee's kennel. We brought all our stuff so we could start sleeping at the new house on Saturday night and Sadie was just thrilled that she had a little place to hide. At one point DeeDee and Sadie were both in there co-existing.

Taking a break to watch the Wiggles

Sunday, Sept 6th
We (Sadie & I) worked on trying to organize the house. Yes Sadie "helped". While Steve continued to make runs back and forth from the old house to the new house.

We took a little break though and here are some fun pictures of Sadie & Steve eating ice cream.

She really did like it. I just got her at the wrong time.

Here is Sadie helping with the boxes. I caught her doing something & scared her a little. This was her reaction.

Sadie & Steve going through stuff while DeeDee supervised. (Yes that's NCIS in the back ground. We hadn't gotten our Cable hooked up yet so we either watched NCIS or Wiggles most of the weekend.)

Sadie & her favorite hiding spot (although it's full now)

Ok so on all the doors and drawers there are felt tabs to help cushion the blow of closing. Sadie all weekend felt it was her job to go through and remove (and try to eat) as many as she possible could. Needless to say I spent most of Sunday afternoon installing child locks.

I absolutely love this picture.

After a long hard day of unpacking and getting into mischief this is the result.

She's holding on for dear life.

Monday, September 7th

We got to start unpacking while Steve continued to make trips to the old house.

Here is Sadie with her new drawer. This didn't last too long as she kept giving everything to the dogs and DeeDee started destroying everything.

Helping Unpack

Yes she got stuck! It was actually pretty funny!
She figured out how to get out by herself though.
