Trunk or Treat

Sadie went as Belle this year for Halloween.

Belle throwing out her gang signs...cuz that's how she rolls.
Our first party was at our Church. They had lots of things for the kids to do as well as a trunk or treat. Here is Sadie getting her face painted.
Ta Da!
They also had a donut eating contest. She jumped down there and laid down but then didn't know what to do. Luckily our friend Andy was the one in charge of the donut so he helped her.
It was pretty hysterical to watch though.
Sadie made a new friend. Her name is Jessie and Sadie followed her around like a lost puppy and Jessie loved the attention. It was really nice Jessie took her around and they played so Steve and I got to slowly walk around and mingle and get good pictures.
Here Sadie is doing an egg race. She LOVED this and would do extra laps just so she could hold the egg in the spoon.
Here is Atley and Sadie after the trunk or treat each were given some of their booty.

Storytime at the Pumpkin Patch

We had storytime at the Pumpkin Patch this week. I found a cute book called "The Pumpkin Patch" so I thought it would be fun for a field trip. I had actually had it planned for the week before but the weather didn't cooperate so we had to postpone it.
I was lucky enough to have some family come to this storytime. Sadie just loves her cousins!

Pumpkin Carving

We got invited over to the Olson's house to have pizza and carve our pumpkins. Little did they know that Steve uses power tools to carve his pumpkins.
Remember a few weeks back when I posted about Sadie's expressions? Well one of those expressions was "Oh No". Here is a perfect picture of that expression.
She was quite upset that her Daddy cut the top of her pumpkin off and was digging inside of it. So upset in fact that she was close to tears.

As soon as Steve demonstrated the use of his dremel tool on the pumpkin, both Andy and Gin wanted to try. Unfortunately there was only one power tool. haha.
Old School meets New School
Gin's Monkey looking pumpkin and Andy's Snow White pumpkin
Andy's Old School pumpkin and Steve's Minnie Mouse.
(and no I didn't carve a pumpkin, so yes we still have one that needs carving)

Playing at the Olson's

After we carved the pumpkins the girls started going a little crazy. First they were running and chasing eachother. That turned into the girls spinning all around the house and making themselves dizzy.

After they had their fill of getting dizzy they turned to free falling off the coffee table onto pillows. Atley was absolutely fearless and Sadie was a little cautious. Surprising though because it's usually the other way around for those two girls.

Our Family Visits the Pumpkin Patch

Today I ended up not watching Jude and it was Steve's Friday off. So we loaded up and headed down to Banducci's Family Pumpkin Patch. It's a cute little place that they decorate really well and have lots of photo op places. They even have a few animals that are on display for the children to ooh and aah over.
Sadie has been struggling lately on whether or not pumpkins are scary.
Apparently they are friendly once again.
Everytime we asked her to show us the gourd she would lift it high in front of her face. Crazy little girl. So I had to get a picture of her not posing so I could see her face.
She was sitting on a hay bale and watching a group of kids that had come on a field trip at the same time. She really wanted to go play with her "friends".
Funny enough she walked right over to this cut out and stuck her face in without any prompting. So I took full advantage.
Watching the chickens, roosters and turkey.
Of course what would a pumpkin patch be without a wagon full of baby pumpkins, gourds and squash? I just don't know myself.
Sadie was facinated by the pumpkins with the bumps all over them. She thought they were pretty cool and funny looking.
Here's our pumpkin...oh and the two we bought to carve.
