Casting of Auggie's Helmet

Today we took Mr. Auggie in to have his helmet casted.  He having to wear a helmet to help shape his head.  This picture is a pretty good before picture.  I will post about his head in a later post with more shots of his head.

The before picture with Momma...

Here they are placing the wrap on before adding the plaster.

My little knight!

Here is a picture of the plaster shaped helmet.  They now will send it off to have the helmet made.  In a couple of weeks we will get the actual helmet and start the process.

Daddy's Birthday

Earlier in the week we went out with some friends to Golden Corral to celebrate Steve's birthday.  I of course forgot to take any pictures.  But I have a rule in my house...you have to blow out a candle and open a gift on your actual birthday.

Here is Miss Sadie teaching the twins something I'm sure I will regret later.

Feeding time for the twins.

Not the best picture...sorry honey...but it's the only one I had.

Happy Birthday Steve/Daddy...we love you!!

Miss Sadie's 1st day of Preschool

She was so excited to get to school this morning can't you tell?  Really she was excited she was just done with pictures.

Nina isn't in her class this year but she is next door.  And Miss Susie wanted to be a part of everything too.

I can say this about Sadie...she isn't shy.  She walked right up to the kids and introduced herself.

Me and my baby

Miss Sadie is in the Super Stars class.  Her teachers are Miss Shari and Miss Lyndy

Already taking charge

Our friend Caylee is in Sadie's class.  Sadie was very excited about that.  Here are all the girls after school was over.

This is Sadie and Breck.  Breck is a friend of mine's grandson.  It was such a nice surprise to know he was in Sadie's class.

Sadie made this today in her class.  She was very happy and is excited about the school year.

Sadie's Haircut

In honor of school starting next week we went and had about 5 inches of hair cut off of Sadie's hair.

The hair cut makes her look so much older.  Kind of makes me sad.

Four Months and Going Strong

I can't believe my babies are four months old already...time has flown by.

They are such a joy to have in our family!

My cousin Jessica was in town with her two girlies so we decided to go and visit.  Peyton is a year younger than Sadie and McKenna is two days younger than the twins.

Have I mentioned lately that I love my family.  Most of my family is spread out but I love getting together to visit when they are in town. And Sadie and Peyton played and visited like it was just yesterday they had seen eachother when in fact they had never met.  I love it!!

Love these babies!!!

Monogram Art

So I've been wanting to make a door decoration for fall and I came across a bunch of Monogram art on pintrest.  So I thought well I have everything to make a yarn monogram right now.

So I gathered some supplies that I had lying around.  An soda flat, glue and yarn.  You could use any color you had but I've been loving all the ombre stuff right now so I selected fall colors.

I traced the letter E on the card board and took my box cutter and cut out the letter.

Then I added some glue (use could use hot glue but I thought it would burn too much with all the wrapping I was going to do so I used regular elmer's glue.) to the end and started wrapping.

It was a bit more time consuming than I had planned and I had to deal with some tricky angles and corners but in the end it turned out just like I wanted.

Using hot glue I embellished the corner with pinecones and added ribbon to use as a hanger. I love it!  And the best part was I did it with stuff I had lying around and I didn't have to go buy anything.

Goree Picnic

I have to say I'm slacking in the photos department lately.  With the twins it's just enough that we get to where we are going lately let alone trying to capture pictures.

But we had a great night at the Goree picnic.  Here is Hettie and Halle they are not quite 2 months apart.  They both have the same middle name Marie. I love that Hettie is going to have a cousin her age to grow up with.

Unfortunately the big kids decided to roll around in the grass and they all got bit by fire ants.  Poor Sadie was COVERED! This picture is even after an allegra that Susie gave her at the park.

We gave her a bath and this picture is after the bath.  Poor thing we had to get cream to put on it and it still took forever for the bites to go away.

Canvas Art Project

Today I decided to get Sadie and the twins to help me do some canvas art.  First project is the footprint butterflies.  I've seen them on pintrest here but hadn't done it yet.  So here is my attempt.

First you'll need a canvas, paint, brush(es) and tape.

I painted the bottom of the kids' feet two different colors.  I didn't get a shot of the twins as they were a bit squirmy.

Now to make the wings of the butterflies you stamp the feet on the opposite sides.  Meaning...Sadie's right foot is on the left of the canvas and her left foot is on the right side of the canvas.

Here is a shot of the canvas with all the foot prints.

Then take a sharpie and draw the body between the foot print and add a head and antenna.  Last step is to take the kids finger and use their fingerprint at the top of the antenna.
I wrote our butterflies and date but you could leave it or put your children's names beneath whatever tickles your fancy.

The second canvas art project was strictly for Sadie.
I taped off the word LOVE on the canvas and gave her all colors of paint and had her finger paint all over the canvas.  **Note: I helped as she got bored but as soon as I started helping she was having fun again.**

Here is Miss Sadie working on her master piece.

Once the paint is dry peel the tape off and there you go.
I especially love the hand print right next to the letter L.
