Oh the Joys of Teething

A picture is worth a 1000 words!!!

So the last couple of evenings/nights have been rough for Miss Sadie. She is really teething now. We were able to get some teething tablets last night and they seemed to help. But she is just not feeling good and inconsoleable. She didn't even want Steve last night which is not normal for her. She hasn't been napping at daycare really and usually she'll take a nap when we first get home but the past couple of nights she just can't relax and won't sleep. I finally got her to sleep last night at 10pm and then this morning at 4am she was awake and on her belly. She rolled over for the first time in her crib this morning. I don't know if she slept like that or just woke up and started playing. She ate and then played for 45 mins and then was out until I got her back up this morning at 7am. Poor thing she is just wiped out.

More Memorial Day Pictures

Memorial Weekend Memories

Well this weekend was the coolest I remember in the past few years. It was rainy and windy so I didn't take Sadie to the Boy Scout Breakfast on Monday nor did I get to take her to the Cemetary like I had wanted to. I guess we will start that tradition next year.

Anyway we just lounged around this weekend. Sadie and I are still trying to kick this cold so neither of us truly felt well. On top of that she was still recovering from her shots. So a little Tylenol later she was feeling her normal happy-go-lucky self.

Saturday we started feeding Sadie cereal. Saturday I don't think I got the mixture very well and it ended up being just a mess. But Sunday and Monday I did pretty good and she ate it up. She really likes it. She also slept a lot longer than usual too, so we don't know if that was from not feeling well, a growth spurt or the cereal. We will have to see how this week goes. Anyhow here are a couple pictures of last night's feeding. She is getting so big. She's teething like crazy but no teeth yet. It's just a matter of time.

Day of Decisions

Well this morning Steve took Sadie to the doctor for her 4 month check up. She is now 25" tall and weighs 15.1 pounds. She doesn't have allergies (she is too young) she does have a cold. Her lungs are clear though which was one of the things that we were afraid of. She is feeling fine though her happy go-lucky self. She received her 4 month vaccinations shots today as well. She had 4 different shot and didn't cry until the very last one. The doctor did tell Steve though that we can start feeding her cereal. So we are going to try that this weekend.

After much deliberation Steve and I have decided I am going to resign from Creative Memories. For those that don't know I'm a Creative Memories Consultant, which means I scrapbook basically. I have never really been in it for the money I've just always tried to sell enough to support my own scrap booking needs. But unfortunately like most everyone else we are feeling the pinch in our pocket book and it is no longer feasible for me to continue.

Lately I haven't even really had time to scrapbook with Sadie and going back to work, so it just seemed like now is the time to make the move. I'm sad at this decision but I know it is for the best and down the road hopefully I can do it again.

**Side note**
It actually started raining here in Bakersfield. Shocking I know but it's true! It was raining pretty good a while ago. I'm not back in my hole of Calcutta and can't see outside so I don't know if it's still raining or not.

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Weekend. I'm sure I'll have pictures from the weekend to upload next week so stay tuned.

It's Been 4 Months Already!

Well you guessed it. Today is Miss Sadie's 4 month birthday. I can't believe it's been 4 months already. She is growing so fast. Don't you ever wish you could freeze time, just for a little while?

Well she is still suffering from a cough and runny nose but she is doing well. We will find out on Friday how much she's grown in the past two months. We think she is close to 26" and 16 lbs but we haven't really measured or weighed her.

She is talking and blowing raspberries all the time now. She is also a water faucet. She is going through 2 bibs a day she is drooling so much. No teeth yet but man is she drooling. I think overall she is a very happy and mellow baby. Thank goodness.

Here are some pictures I took this morning. She is wearing her brand new 6 month outfit. It has strawberries on it for Grandma Hildebrand. Hope you all enjoy them!

Last week, Worst week

Well the last week was awful. Although Miss Sadie did turn over on Monday, May 12th. Steve says that I cheated but I really don't think I did. I was at the head of the bed and Sadie was at the foot of the bed. I had just gotten her dressed and she rolled toward me. I got it on video but I think it's too large and it won't let me up load so here are a couple of pictures I took. Notice the cute cupcake outfit. Aunt Katie and Rylie got her that outfit. She is just so cute.

Well I was home most of the week last week with Sadie. I had to go to the doctor on Tuesday for severe bleeding. They put me on estrogen to stop the bleeding and I have to take that for 21 days then I have to take progestrone for 10 days. I was so completely drained and loopy from losing so much blood though, that I couldn't drive. So Sadie and I stayed in bed most of the time.

I set up her Baby Einstein play center on Steve's side of the bed and she played and slept. She would play, play, play until she just would crash. Below is a couple of pictures of her. She would be playing with her toys and just end up falling asleep holding them. She was really cute.

Sadie wasn't feeling too good either. We think she has allergies. Her nose would just run and run and her left eye would get gook in them. Luckily she is feeling better but she also has a doctor's appointment on Friday for her 4 month check up and shots. So Steve will talk to the doctor just to make sure it isn't anything more serious then. I am feeling better now I just get headaches from the estrogen.

Steve surprised me on Saturday and we went to see "The Forbidden Kingdom" with Jackie Chan and Jet Li, while Brittney West watched Sadie. It was nice to just get out of the house and have a break from the little monster, although she was a really good girl. Then Sadie and I went to church on Sunday and had a great time. She laughed and laughed and then just crashed. Steve and I think she is having another growth spurt. We will see on Friday though.

Mother's Day Surprise

So this morning when I got to work, I had a pleasant surprise. You know last week we kept Sadie home most of the week so she could recover from her cold. Well Kimmi, Sadie's daycare grandma made special Mother's Day presents for all the Mommies. Above is mine. They actually traced Sadie's hand and everything. It is so cute and sweet. It's my first hand made present from Sadie. I love Kimmi so much for doing this for me. Of course I have the real thing hanging in my cubicle at work.
I just thought I would share.

Happy Mother's Day

Steve got some good pictures of Sadie and I on Mother's Day after church. It was our first you know. We had a nice lazy day. You really can't tell but we actually did match. Dorky I know but what can I say. Enjoy the pictures.

Poor Sick Sadie!

Well Miss Sadie came down with a cold this week. Yesterday I stayed home from work with her. We just laid in bed most of the day and slept and played. In the afternoon she got a burst of energy so I got some good videos.

I'll upload more when I can get a better connection.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Tummy time with Sadie - 05/08/08. She almost got her knees under her a couple of times.

More Lost Movies of Sadie Eastlick

Sorry you'll just have to bear with me cuz these are just too cute!!

Below is Sadie in her new bed...if you listen closely you can hear the barking spiders.

Below is Sadie holding her bottle for the first time. Mind you it hasn't happened since but we at least got this on tape. Just ignore Steve and I, he didn't know I was recording it, he thought I was taking a picture instead.

Lost Movies of Sadie Eastlick

Noisy Sadie

Our Daughter is really cute and now is talking. Take a look...

Fun Arena Football Pictures

Left to Right: Tyler & Joel Kirklin, Sadie & Steve Eastlick
We are outside the Staples Center here.
This picture is quite funny because what you can't see is that all the boys are watching the cheerleaders.

Sadie did really good and even managed to fall asleep with all the noise.

This is how Sadie fell asleep. She can fall asleep anywhere...I envy that.

Catch Up With Us...

Well it's been a few weeks since my last update. Things have been pretty busy at work and around the house. Here are a couple of quick pictures with a brief summary of the past few weeks. Enjoy

Above is Miss Sadie ready for Church. The headband didn't stay on too long as it was too tight. And what you can't see is this dress had the cutest sandals. Unfortunately they didn't stay on too long either as Sadie's feet have grown quickly. We currently have no shoes that fit...Now I have an excuse to shop.

Above is Sadie in her Baby Einstein jumper. She loves this thing. She loves to play with the rattle toys and just watch TV. Mostly sports. Any sporting event or show completely enraptures her. Poor thing!
Above is Sadie in her bumbo seat. She does really good in it. We've even taken it a couple places with us for her to sit in. No the bumbo doesn't have a stering wheel. That is just one of her toys. Although I love this picture because it looks like she is trying to drive. You can already tell she is a NASCAR fan. Go Michael Waltrip!!

On April 18th our Church had a BBQ. It was Sadie's first. We went and visited. It was fun, although the BBQ pit ended up being broken so we had a Pizza Party instead. But we enjoyed it. Above is a picture of Sadie and Steve at the BBQ.
This was a busy weekend for us. The next day, April 19th was Highland High School's Prom and Sadie and I were invited to the West's for a Pre-Prom Party. So Sadie dressed up and we went to watch and visit. The girls all looked really pretty and below are a couple of pictures.

Above: Sadie & Brittney West

Above: Sadie & Jordan Kirklin

Above: Sadie & Emma Fink

The day after the Prom Party was my work's Company Picnic. So Sunday, April 20th we trekked over to the Park. We had a great time. Yes I remembered to put Sunscreen on Sadie, however I accidentally got some in her eye. The first picture you can see her eye is a little red. But she did good. We had a lot of fun visiting.

Sadie looks like the cartoon of the old man with no teeth in this picture. She also reminds me of Sweet Pea from Popeye. I tell everyone she looks like she is trying to smoke a cigar, but really she had discovered she could change the position of her pacifier with her gums.

Sadie and her cool sunglasses.
My poor angel was exhausted after the picnic. I thought these pictures really showed her personality. She has discovered she prefers her thumb to her pacifier most of the time. She is really a precious baby. The next two pictures I took one morning before work. She looked too cute to pass it up. The last picture Steve is actually holding her, but we drapped a black cloth over him so he wouldn't be in the picture. She actually really liked that.

Well things are going well. Sadie is growing like a stinkin' weed. We've had to start putting her in 6mos pajamas and pants because she is so tall. Steve and I are both doing well and we are finally starting to get into a routine with me working again.

Oh and I didn't make the final cut for the Chevron job. Which is fine. I've always enjoyed my job, but I just wanted to be compensated. But now with the ecomony the way that it is, I'm just thankful that I actually have a job. There are people out there with a lot less so I'm just grateful for what I have. Who knows I just got done with my self-evaluation so maybe changes will come from that. And if not I can honestly say it wasn't for a lack of trying.

This past week Sadie has discovered a couple of things. One being that she has a voice. Which I find very funny. She is talking but talking loudly. I even had to leave Church today because she was so loud. Another thing she has discovered is that she can blow raspberries (spitting). It's really cute. I even caught her doing it in her sleep today. Another thing she discovered is she is like Linus from the Peanuts cartoon. She loves to suck her thumb while having a blanket or piece of clothing in that same hand. It's really cute. I will try and get a good picture and upload it soon. One last thing she has discovered, she likes being the center of attention. Last night we took Joel and Tyler Kirklin and went down to an Arena Football Game at the Staples Center. It was the LA Avengers against the Arizona Rattlers. Sadie had everyone around us eating out of the palm of her hand. It was a fun night and Olympic Gold Medalist Amanda Beard was there. I of course took pictures but I haven't uploaded them yet. I will try and do that tomorrow.
