18 years and going strong!

Happy 18th Anniversary to my best friend!
I'm so lucky to have such a great man in my life.  He is a wonderful husband and father.  He has taken care of us so much these past few months all the while working his butt off at work to provide for us as well.  I truly don't know what I would do without him.

Field Trip to Dewar's

While I had a Doctor's appointment Steve took Miss Sadie to her preschool field trip to Dewar's.  He jumped all over the chance for this field trip as it ended with ice cream.  Go figure.

Here is our little group listening to the instructions.

They each got their very own hair net to wear since they were going into the factory.

They got to see how the Dewar's chews were made.  This is a large amount of taffy that gets stretched down into a small snake.  Kind of like when you are playing with playdough and roll it into a long snake.

After the tour they came back inside to the ice cream parlor and had a bowl of ice cream.
Sadie had a blast.  Here she is with a couple of her friends outside by the big Dewar's sign.

Pony Rides

Miss Sadie had another doctor's appointment at UCLA today.  Unfortunately I am not allowed to travel so Steve took her down.  They made a day of it and visited the Ponies at Griffith Park. One of Miss Sadie's favorite things!!  She of course enjoyed herself immensely.

St. Patrick's Day

Thank goodness for the rain this morning.  I was running out of things that I could do to keep Miss Sadie entertained. So I bundled her up and sent her outside to play in the muddy puddles.

Miss Sadie LOVES puddles and the rain.  Luckily she didn't get too muddy. Clean up can be a pain and I can't bend over very well. haha.

After she got cleaned up and dressed I made her some warm comfort food for lunch but with a twist.  I put some green food coloring in the mac n cheese in honor of St. Patty's Day.

At first she wasn't too sure, but after I took a couple of bites she was game to try it.

Rylie's Birthday

Rylie's birthday party was a blast.  The girls did got makeovers and wore fun sunglasses and sang and danced.

Katie did a great job with the party and Sadie had so much fun.  Unfortunately I was so huge and uncomfortable that we didn't get to stay too long.  Just long enough to have fun, eat some pizza and watch Rylie open the present from Sadie.  (Which she loved!!)

30 weeks Pregnant with the Twins

I have been putting this off for weeks now.  I am so huge and feel so unattractive that the last thing I want to do is have my picture taken.  But for the sake of my prosperity I thought I better have a couple of pictures so here you go..

Here I am at 30 weeks.  There for a while we didn't know if I would make it this far.

Hair Bows and Bow Hangers

Our dear friend Rylie is celebrating her birthday this month.  Rylie has some of the most beautiful hair I have ever seen and she loves to wear clips.  So I decided for her gift I would make her a bow holder and a few bows to start her off.

So I grabbed some card board and cut out the shape I wanted.  Then I got my trusty glue gun out and some batting.  I glued a layer of batting on the card board then covered the batting with this fun material.  After that I attached some black tule at the bottom of the cardboard for a skirt.  I gathered the tule to make pleats as I went.  Then I took black ribbon and decorated the bodice and the skirt.  I attached black ribbon on the back of the bodice to hang it and finally attached a few bows.

Fine Motor Skills Color Art

What to do when Mommy can't do anything?  We make art!  I gathered up a few supplies and printed off a few things on cardstock for Sadie to paint.  I am really working with her on fine motor skills and I thought trying to paint in the lines with a q-tip would work.

Our color wheel.  Now we also worked on mixing colors, cuz lets face it the colors are going to get mixed while Miss Sadie paints so let's turn that into a learning experience.

I printed out several things with a bubble type font so she could fill in the letters.  I made one with her name, I love Grandma and Grandpa and I love Daddy.

I was actually surprised this project went over with Miss Sadie.  Ususally she is a fast paced worker and doesn't color much as it's to borin' she says.  But she concentrated and worked on these for at least an hour.  And let me just say for the record this was the first time I've gotten her to do anything for a whole hour.

She was especially proud of her Daddy painting.  She even gave it to him and asked him to put it in his office at work.
