Sadie's Last Softball Game

Sadie had her last softball game of the season this past week. She is getting much better and actually got a foul tip this time. Here's a video...bare with me it's 6 mins long but it is the highlights of the last game.

We got her a tee so we can practice this summer with her cousins. I had a great time working with all the girls on the team. They improved so much in just a couple of months. June 4th is the softball end of year barbeque. We will be going and getting Sadie's trophy. (all the little girls get a trophy no matter what).

Griffith Park

Our good friends The Fieldsted Family told us about these pony rides at Griffith park. So we decided to break up the ride home from Disneyland and stopped to check it out. Needless to say Sadie was in heaven. I would recommend this place to anyone going to be in LA.

I was a little nervous at first for Sadie because the last time she rode a pony she kinda had a melt down. But as Steve said, that was also almost 2 years ago.

She was a pro from the start. And you see that smirk of a smile? Well that's because her pony slowed to a stop and then took off at a trot. She LOVED it!

They have a slow walk for the little ones, a medium for 3 and up and then faster horses. Next time we go Sadie will try the medium . This is a very happy girl!!

Ok Grandma Aileen and Papa...she's ready for July! All she's talked about since Friday is going back down to the ponies.

This is one of my all time favorite shots.

This is the face after you tell her no more. It's true. We only had a few dollars and weren't planning on staying long so she only got to go around 4 times. Next time we will take more cash and do the pony drawn wagon and the little train.

Celebrating Daddy at Disneyland

To celebrate Steve's promotion we decided to head on down to Anaheim for a couple of days. Wednesday after Steve got off work we headed down and stayed the night so we could be at Disneyland bright and early.

The weather was absolutely perfect and the crowds weren't too big. We even went on a few more rides than we usually do because the lines weren't very long at all.

Sadie really wanted to ride Dumbo this time. The last time we went on it she freaked out but she did really well this time. She didn't like it when I made Dumbo go up or at the end when they bring all the Dumbo's up together but for the most part she enjoyed it!

She had one request this trip...she wanted to see Tinkerbell. So we stood in line for about 30-45 mins. It was the longest ride (haha) we stood in all day. They re-did the exhibit since the last time we went to go along with the third Tinkerbell movie (Sadie's favorite) so she wanted to fly like a fairy when she saw the "field journal".

And she got to meet Vidia. She hadn't met her yet. She enjoyed talking with both Tinkerbell and Vidia.

After visiting Pixie Hollow we went to Tomorrow land to see about how long Autotopia was and Sadie discovered the rolling ball fountain.

After playing with the fountain we went back to the Hotel for a nap and lunch and to get re-energized. It was wonderful. Then we headed to Toon Town. Steve and Sadie went on Roger Rabbit while I took a breather.

Sadie got to see Aviator Minnie Mouse while we stopped for World of Color Tickets (which were all gone so we didn't see it this time.) At first we thought it was Mickey Mouse but then Sadie said "No it's Minnie Mouse, she has a bow"

She also got to see Minnie Mouse on Main Street USA

While in Toon Town we visited Mickey's house and Sadie got to see him too.

We visited Donald's Boat as well.

I think Sadie had the most fun though at Goofy's house. They have a little play area for the kids with tunnels, slides and toy piano.

Here I am waiting for Steve and Sadie to come out of Goofy's house.

Of course we had to go by the gas station, the police station, and post office. She was quite upset when we left because she wanted to play some more. But they were getting ready to close so we headed over to the Train and rode it over to the Tiki Room.

We had a great time at Disneyland (AGAIN). Sadie is getting to the age where she is enjoying the rides more and can go on more things. Next trip will be for Daddy's birthday in September.

Steve's Reward

No this isn't a mug shot. haha...it's a photo for Steve's employee badge. Yep that's right as of May 2, 2011 Steve is officially a Chevron employee and no longer a contractor. We have been extremely blessed. Steve has worked as a contractor for Chevron for 5 long years and his hard work and skills have finally paid off.We recently went to dinner with his co-workers where I had the priviledge to hear so many wonderful things about Steve. His boss and champion could not say enough good things about Steve. He is such a hard worker and loves to learn new things. He also learns so quickly and thinks outside of the box that he is able to help improve on current projects.

I am so lucky and blessed to have such a great provider for our family. Steve is truly most deserving of this and I know he will do well in his new position. Steve is excited to be learning new things and to be able to work with new people. The funny thing is now that he's an employee he is a hot commidity. People are already looking at him for future positions. So we will be around for a long time to come.

I'm so glad that I get to brag about Steve. He is truly a great man, father, friend, son and husband. He puts up with me so that should be even more bonus points for him. It has been a long road to get here but together we have been able to get through many trials. It's true what they say "good things come to those who wait".

Mother's Day

Mother's Day this year was very low key. We had softball on Saturday and then went for ice cream as a family. Steve made me the best bbq and got me a new portable hard drive for all my pictures. And Steve got a Dell Streak. Because without Daddy there would be no Mommy.
