Four Months and Going Strong

I can't believe my babies are four months old already...time has flown by.

They are such a joy to have in our family!

My cousin Jessica was in town with her two girlies so we decided to go and visit.  Peyton is a year younger than Sadie and McKenna is two days younger than the twins. 

 

Have I mentioned lately that I love my family.  Most of my family is spread out but I love getting together to visit when they are in town. And Sadie and Peyton played and visited like it was just yesterday they had seen eachother when in fact they had never met.  I love it!!

Goree Picnic

I have to say I'm slacking in the photos department lately.  With the twins it's just enough that we get to where we are going lately let alone trying to capture pictures. 

 

But we had a great night at the Goree picnic.  Here is Hettie and Halle they are not quite 2 months apart.  They both have the same middle name Marie. I love that Hettie is going to have a cousin her age to grow up with.

Unfortunately the big kids decided to roll around in the grass and they all got bit by fire ants.  Poor Sadie was COVERED! This picture is even after an allegra that Susie gave her at the park.

We gave her a bath and this picture is after the bath.  Poor thing we had to get cream to put on it and it still took forever for the bites to go away.

Valley Plaza Kids Day

Our Mall has a preschool day every 1st Tuesday of the month.  So I loaded up the crew and headed over. 

 

This month the weatherman from our local news station came and read the kids a book.  They also got to take home a book.

Sadie would raise her hand and answer every question he asked the entire time.  It got to the point where he was laughing and practically reading the book to Sadie and Nina.  It was a fun day.

Yes that is terror on Sadie's face.  She is fine with these rides as long as they don't move.  Well I actually talked her into riding this one.  It had just started when I took this picture.  By the end she said "now that wasn't so bad huh mom".

BRAVE

Took Sadie and her friend Caylee to see Brave today.

After the movie we went and got some ice cream to complete the girls day out.

Multnomah Falls

One of my most favorite places on earth!

It is so beautiful and peaceful. 

We decided to make the drive out to the falls after our long day in downtown Portland.  We were leaving the next day for Etna and it wouldn't be a complete trip unless we saw the falls.

When Miss Sadie saw the bridge she HAD to make the hike up there!  Even though she was exhausted...as evident in this picture.  But I love this picture because you couldn't pay for a better back drop than this one.

Steve stayed down at the base of the waterfall with the twins so he zoomed in and got a picture of us on the bridge.  Yep that's us all nice and fuzzy but it's us!

I think this is the first and only picture of the two of us this whole vacation so far...shame on me.

Auggie had been fussy most of the day but when we got here he was instantly at peace.  I can so relate to this kid!

The MAX, Food Carts, Voodoo Doughnuts...Oh my!

After our photo session we hopped on the MAX to go down town to have lunch at the food carts. 

Miss Sadie was excited she was just upset she had to wait for another train.

She loved the MAX and watching everything fly by.

Toward the end of the ride someone got a little tired it was of course nap time but we had too much to do and see to stop for a nap.

This is a little out of order but I had to include it.  This is on the ride back to Gresham. Sadie was exhausted and there were no places to sit. (we caught rush hour) So Cousin Jeff made a seat for her to sit on.

My Foodie!

We have been researching Portland's food carts ever since we found out we were coming up for the wedding.  Mr. Foodie was very excited to try "The Frying Scotsman"'s fish and chips.  And he wasn't disappointed!

We decided to walk over to Powell's Bookstore and we ran into someone who obviously loves Star Wars.  I do too but I'm not sure I'd go this far....ok maybe.

Andrew and Alyssa were able to meet up with us after she got her hair chopped off for boot camp (she reports tomorrow).  Miss Sadie was happy they got to come even if it only was a short visit.

On our way back to the MAX we detoured over to Voodoo Doughnuts!  Oh and I'm so glad we did.

Yes this is the famous cock and balls doughnut from Voodoo.  Let's just say this was taken after a very long day!  I was a little punch drunk!  haha.  Now you know my real sense of humor!

Field Trip to Dewar's

While I had a Doctor's appointment Steve took Miss Sadie to her preschool field trip to Dewar's.  He jumped all over the chance for this field trip as it ended with ice cream.  Go figure.

They each got their very own hair net to wear since they were going into the factory.

They got to see how the Dewar's chews were made.  This is a large amount of taffy that gets stretched down into a small snake.  Kind of like when you are playing with playdough and roll it into a long snake. 

After the tour they came back inside to the ice cream parlor and had a bowl of ice cream.

 Sadie had a blast.  Here she is with a couple of her friends outside by the big Dewar's sign.

Pony Rides

Miss Sadie had another doctor's appointment at UCLA today.  Unfortunately I am not allowed to travel so Steve took her down.  They made a day of it and visited the Ponies at Griffith Park. One of Miss Sadie's favorite things!!  She of course enjoyed herself immensely.

Leap Day at Insectlore

I have been chomping at the bit to get out of the house so I thought I would join Sadie's preschool group on a field trip to Insectlore.

This is a great little bug museum out in Shafter, California.  They have all kinds of creepy crawlies and educational games and other items for sale.  We were lucky and got a special tour and even got to touch some of the bugs.

Here's all the kids in her preschool group.  We had a picnic on the lawn before the tour too.  It was a lot of fun.  Long but fun  hehe
