She's Finally Here!!
Yes it's true! And yes it's a girl. For those who haven't heard, she was born on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 4:47 pm. I reported to the hospital at 6:30am and they started me on potossin. At 9:30am my doctor examined me and I was dialated to 4cm and they broke my water. I started hard labor around 4pm and had her 47 min later. She was 7 lbs. 12 oz and was 19 1/2" long. As you can see from her picture she was born with a head full of hair as well.
We are both doing fine and adjusting to the many changes going on. Her follow up appointment went well and she already grew a half inch. She was a little jaundice but not enough to cause concern. She lost 8 oz bringing her to 7 lbs. 4 oz.
We are truly blessed to have her in our family and we are so thankful everything went as smoothly as it did.

May The Inducement Commence!
Well it looks like we are inducing on Monday, January 21st. My ultrasound showed that Sadie was already 7 lbs (give or take) and my due date is Saturday Jan 27th so they are inducing on Monday.
Today I went in for yet another Non Stress Test (NST) and everything was fine, although my blood pressure was up a little bit so I'm taking it easy this afternoon. I am supposed to call Monday morning at 5 am to see how busy the Labor & Delivery is so we can hopefully be admitted at 6am. The Doctor would like us to get an early start seeming it can take a while for the inducement process to work. We may be at the hospital a while so don't worry if you haven't heard from us...we will of course notify everyone.
Mom and Dad are coming down this weekend so they will be able to be here for the big event. I'm feeling pretty good, just the occasional cramping which sometimes lasts a while. I just rest and pick up where I left off once they're gone. I've just been cleaning and puttering around the house trying to get stuff organized or done before I won't have the time or energy too. I even went and got my face waxed this afternoon so I won't look like a hairy beast in my pictures. HA!
We put up the bassinet last night so we both could get used to it before there is an actual child in it. It's not too bad, a little cramped but it will work. Tonight I get to go hang out with the girls, Katie, Rylie, Ally and Dawni for a while. A last hurrah if you will. I can't believe that in four days I'll acutally have a baby to take places. Of course not right away but it will no longer be, jump in the car and go.

Cruise Control!!
Well we are still on crusie control. As of Tuesday I'm just over 2 cm dilated. I've had a few non-stress tests (NST) and they've been fine. I've had some contractions still but nothing earth shattering. I did find out that the Dr. originally scheduled me for inducement on the 21st but we are no longer going to induce so we'll see.
I had another 2 hour fasting blood work test yesterday. The doctor wanted to make sure my sugar levels are still ok and he also wanted to check my iron levels. I've been anemic and have had to start taking extra iron.
I had an ultrasound yesterday. No news though. It was the least informative and most uncomfortable ultrasound ever. They couldn't tell me anything and they never even showed me the screen. I was forced to lay on my back looking at the ceiling for an hour while the techinican took the pictures. Finally after she was done she went and got Steve from the waiting room and just showed us a picture of her face and foot. We also saw her heart beat. She copied a couple of pictures onto a CD for us but they aren't very good or clear. There isn't enough room to get a good picture now. The rest of the evening Sadie was not happy from the ultrasound and made me pay.
The NST's are every Tuesday and Thursday. Next Tuesday is our next doctor's appointment where we will hopefully have the results from the ultrasound. I'm hoping that they will be able to tell approximately how big she is. They sure did take enough pictures.
The kitchen is still going strong. Hopefully by the end of the weekend we will have the drawers and remaining countertops in. The microwave cabinet is up and the microwave is mounted. I'm trying to help Steve but I think most of the time I'm a hinderance not a help. Oh well I can at least hold stuff and fetch things.

Oh The Joys Of Contractions
Well yesterday I went into San Joaquin Hospital for my non-stress test. It only took 2 days to get me in. They've been so busy they didn't have an empty room. I told Steve it was nice to know that if I had gone into labor I would have had her in the hallway.
The test was fine, they kept me longer than normal though because I was having contractions. They even had to do an exam to make sure I wasn't dialating any more. I am just over 2 cm now and my cervix is still thick. Keeping me was just a precaution to make sure I wasn't actually in labor. The contractions didn't really hurt until after the exam but last night and today I've had contractions and they don't really hurt it's more pressure than anything.
I had a small panic attack while in the hospital though. I realized I wasn't ready yet, I hadn't done any laundry yet and I hadn't packed my hospital bag yet. So today I packed what I could for myself and started laundry so I would at least have an outfit for Sadie to come home in. This is definitely not a good start.

9 Months and Going Strong
Well yesterday we had a doctor's appointment and I am dialated at almost 2 cm and my cervix is softening. So the doctor has given me permission to go into Labor at any time now. He didn't mention anything about inducing this visit though but he did say he wouldn't let me go past my due date. So I guess we will know more next Friday at the ultrasound.
Today I start the non-stress tests. It is sometime this afternoon. They will give me a call when they have a free bed and it will take about an hour they said. They will put a monitor on my belly and also around my heart to monitor both the baby and I. I will be doing this twice a week starting next week and I will be seeing the doctor once a week from here on out. So basically I'll be seen three times a week until I have her.
I've been having some cramping lately which would indicate the dialation process I'm assuming but other than that I'm feeling pretty good. I was sick yesterday most of the day so I did a couple things around the house and then slept most of the day.
So we are on alert now. It could happen at any time from here on out. But the likely hood of it happening sooner than later is minimal I think. I can be dialated at a 2 for a long time before anything happens. But we will just have to see.
