Kangaroo Lake

This is Kangaroo Lake on July 1, 2011.  Yep that's snow.  We were very lucky to be able to get into the lake this year.  This is Sadie's first encounter with the white stuff.  Her cousins were very good at sliding around on it so she learned quickly.

 Here is Sadie fishing with her Princess pole.  She did rather well until actual fish came into the equation.

After Sadie reeled the fish in Steve tried to give it to her.  The picture above is Sadie running away from Steve and the fish.  Because as Steve was handing it to her the fish flopped and hit Sadie.  Needless to say she freaked out.  The picture on the bottom she is right in front of me with what she feels is an appropriate distance from the fish.

Ok I had to include this picture because it's one of the funniest I took.  Spencer is trying to get the hook out of the fish's mouth and Sadie is freaking out because he is going to stick his fingers in the fish's mouth.  That's her at the bottom protesting with both hands.

Steve was pretty much to himself the whole time we were fishing.  He chose another spot around the lake.  Doesn't he look peaceful.  It's the first time I've seen him relaxed in a long time.

After the fishing was done we made a camp fire roasted hot dogs and marshmallows to make smores and visited while the kids either continued fishing or playing in the snow.  It was a great time.  I'm so glad that we were able to do this with my parents and my brother's family.
