Well we've decided that we will be unable to send out Halloween cards this year, so instead I'm uploading the pictures here so everyone can see them.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Following Up

So I mentioned in an early post that I would post about this past weekend. Well Saturday, Sadie and I got to go to Village Grill for Breakfast with the girls. The girls included, Katie, Rylie, Dawni, Mandi and Jennifer. Now to give a little background. Back in the day we all worked at MS Walker together and we would have Friday girl's lunch. Slowly but surely people started leaving until it's just Katie and I. We still try to get together as often as we can but you know how it is, life happens and sometimes and unintentionally our friends get swept aside for daily living. Well Sunday, October 12 was Jennifer's birthday and Monday, October 13th was Mandi & Jeremiah's 1 year Anniversary. So what a better excuse than to get together and celebrate. It was a nice breakfast and we all got to catch up with eachother. And Jennifer finally got to meet Sadie. Yep it's been that long!

Then after breakfast we drove to Katie and Dawni's new house. Well they aren't in it yet but they will be in a couple of weeks. We walked around the back yard and Rylie and Sadie played and had a wonderful time. Dawni took lots of pictures and I'll post them as soon as I can. I have to say I love their new place and they are going to have a great time living together. There are times that I miss not having the roommate experience but I wouldn't trade Steve for anything.

Well Sunday found that Sadie has grown out of all her dresses. UGH. So I made a make-shift outfit with a skirt I found that was a little snug. She looked cute, but I told Steve we must get this child a couple of dresses. Anyhoo. We got all packed up and headed to church. I decided that this week I was going to sit in the back next to the door so I could easily escape. Those with little ones know what I'm talking about. Sadie is still trying to grasp the inside voice concept. This week I also decided since we are giving her food now that I needed to start giving her the Sacrament.

Yep, that's right. It was her first week taking the Sacrament. She ate the bread fine and got mostly half the water down. The other half was on her bib or my shirt. This week we are going to take lots of snacks and extra juice and try and stay for all of Church. I talked to my Mom when we got home and I explained to her that Noon is Sadie's lunch time and she becomes a crazy child but I don't want to feed her baby food at church cuz it takes a bit of corraling and I'm not sure I can do it. So she suggested just taking extra snacks and letting her eat those for her lunch. So that's what we are going to try and do this week. January our meetings start at 9am again so I don't think it will be as bad. I just need to make it to then. Anyone with any helpful hints or tips please let me know!! I'm doing this on my own so it's been a bit of a trial and error process. But I know I need to stay for all of Church if she will let me.

Here are a couple of pictures of her after Church. Please ignore the laundry basket in the background.

It's A Good Day!

This morning I found a cute outfit that I didn't know I had for Sadie. You really can't see it well in these pictures but it has three cupcakes on the front. Sadie was in a really good mood when we got to Kimmi's (Daycare) so I took some random pictures. The first three are with my cell phone. I sent these to cousin Alyssa. Steve and Sadie talked to her and Karina last night and we found out we are going to get to visit them in December. We are really excited about that.

And yes that is a police truck in the back ground of a couple of the pictures, as the neighbor across the street from Kimmi's had their car broke into last night. Not to worry though, Kimmi's is safe and sound.

Time Flies When You Are Having Fun!

My baby turned 9 months today. This time with her sure seems to be going by so fast. Sometimes I'd really like for time to freeze and then there are times that I want to see the next phase. She really is a good girl. She is friendly to everyone and is really easy going.

She is very curious and loves to learn. Right now she is learning how to pick food up and eat it. It has been really funny watching her. She has gotten a lot better. She has been standing for sometime on her own but now she is trying to learn how to take that first step. She gets so frustrated with her left leg when it won't do what she wants.

She is so beautiful. I am amazed every day of how sweet she is and how beautiful she truly is. I may be a little (ok a lot) biased but she truly is beautiful. What makes her even more so is her sweet temperament. (when she isn't teething. YIKES!) Right now she has three teeth and is cutting #4 and #5. It's been a rough week for her but really she is doing so good considering one of the teeth she is cutting looks like it's an eye tooth and everyone says those are the hardest and most painful to cut.
She loves to play and is really good at finding Any spec of food or trash or dirt on the floor. She thinks she is a big girl now and loves her sippy cup. We need to get her more because now on carpool days she gets one on the way home. Especially since last week when Rylie had hers in the car now she wants one too.

Yes that's my camera strap in her mouth. I have to tell you EVERYTHING goes into this child's mouth. And for some reason she is completely fascinated by my camera. But aren't her eyes gorgeous?

Steve bought some juice bars the other day at the store and Sadie really loves them. Please ignore her dirty face as this was right after dinner and before her bath.

Friday Night Sleep Over

Friday was a lot of fun. When I picked Sadie up from Kimmi's (Daycare) I also got to pick Rylie up. She got to come over to our house for a sleep over. It was a funny drive home because neither one of the girls are used to having anyone in the back seat next to them. Rylie just said Sadie's name all the way home while have her "nack". Sadie sat in her carseat and just clapped her hands and nodded (her head banging thing).

Once we got to the house we went out back since Steve was mowing the back yard. Rylie and Sadie played in the back yard for a little while so I could finish the dinner that Steve started. We had chicken nuggets and steak fries. Rylie really liked dipping the fries and chicken in ketchup. By 7pm we had to try and keep Sadie awake. She was so tired. Usually she gets a little power nap on the way home but there was just too much going on. So by 7:30 she was out. Steve put her to bed while I got Rylie ready.

The next morning both girls were up and starting their day at 5am. So we played and watched Cinderella and Playhouse Disney on the Disney Channel. It was a great morning. Then Sadie and I took Rylie home. We had lots of fun and can't wait to do it again. Here are some pictures. Unfortunately there was too much going on Friday night to get any pictures so these are from Saturday morning.

Good Morning Princess!
Sadie still isn't quite awake yet.
Sadie playing with Daddy. He like to hang her rings from her ears like earrings.
Rylie showing me how to put the blocks in the bucket
She is concentrating really hard.
Playing with the play pen and bouncer.
Sadie & Steve
Sadie & Rylie - We want in!
Rylie was helping Sadie try to stand up.
Sadie discovered how to quickly dump a bag full of cheerios on the floor.

My Husband Rocks on 98.5 the Fox!

Ok so did you know that the Fox Theater in Bakersfield California was opened on Christmas Day, 1930? I didn't either but Steve figured it out and won $598.

That's right. 98.5 The Fox was running a trivia question yesterday and Steve figured it out. He just called me and told me he won.

YAY FOR STEVE! I knew his brains would come in handy some day!
If you're in Bakersfield and listen to 98.5 you will hear his name.

Thanks 98.5 The Fox, my gas tank thanks you as well!

Weekend of Fun and Reading

When my parents went to Utah in August my Mom got the Twilight books that my sister-in-law said she needed to read. My mom loved them so much she got me a set so I could read them. So I finally made the plung and decided to read the Twilight Series Books by Stephenie Meyer. I've been slowly reading them for the past two weeks and last night I finished the last one. I couldn't stand it...I had to finish it last night. They were all very well written and can't wait for her next project. Twilight is being made into a movie right now and it will open before the end of the year. I will definitely be going to see that for a number of reasons. One being the story was excellent and I believe the movie will be just as good. The other reason is the main character Edward is being played by a Harry Potter actor. He played Cedric in the Harry Potter movies.

Saturday morning I had an appointment to have Sadie's pictures done in her costume. So Steve made the suggestion that maybe I should try on the costume prior to going so I knew what I needed. Smarty pants. Here are a couple of pictures of her playing on the bed in her costume. Her professional pictures turned out really well. I'll post them as soon as I get them scanned. After Sadie and I got home I made Steve take a break from working in the garage on a new stand for his router and we got to finish "We Are Marshall". It was a good movie. It of course made me cry but really it's an emotional sports movie. I really didn't stand a chance.

Sunday morning I got Sadie all dressed up for church. Rylie had given us some of her old clothes and shoes. Sadie looked really cute. She had a Winnie-the-pooh dress with cute tights and a sweater and she wore her new (to her) mary jane shoes. She was really cute. Unfortunately we didn't make it through all of church. She is cutting an upper tooth and the bottom tooth isn't in all the way yet so there was a lot of drool and fussiness going on. I at least made it for most of Sacrament which was an accomplishment.

After Sadie and I got home from Church we found Steve working in the garage yet again but this time working on the pantry for the kitchen. So Sadie and I went back and forth from being inside to helping or watching Steve. Sadie loves to sit in her high chair and watch Steve work. He had the Dallas game on the radio in the garage while I had the 49er game on in the living room. UGH both lost. But we had fun listening and watching the games all while helping Steve and me reading here and there in my book.

Here are a couple of pictures from Sunday before church. I didn't get a good full length picture but I will strive to do so next time.

FRIDAY NIGHT BLACKOUT!!

Friday Steve and Sadie got to spend the whole day together. Steve mowed the lawn while Sadie played. She is really liking the grass now. Steve had a doctor's appointment (which everything is going really well with his breathing. His capacity has improved significantly) so Sadie got to go and visit all the nurses who of course cooed and fawned over her. After that they made a shopping trip to Winco.

When I got home Steve and I decided to watch "We Are Marshall" we hadn't seen it yet. so we started the movie around 7pm. We were about 15 minutes into the movie when the power went off. Steve got the flashlight and I got our little green night light (thanks Grandma & Grandpa Eastlick). We checked outside and the whole neighbor hood was out. We get called PG&E and they said they'd hopefully had it back on between 7:37 and 9:37pm. So we hunkered down and played with the flash light thinking they'd get it on closer to 8 than 9. After an hour Sadie was tired so we put her down. So Steve and I sat and listened to some comedian that he had on his phone until about 9pm. So we called and check and it said they weren't going to have it up for about another hour. So we went to bed. The power finally came on at 10pm.

Here are some pictures of the event as well as a little video of Sadie playing with the flashlight. We tried to get her attention on the ceiling where we were making shadow puppets but she was too interested in the actual flashlight.

Please keep in mind the first few pictures are lit up from the flash...there were no lights on except for the flash light and our green person. Sadie really enjoyed the event!
