After playing in the snow we went and visited with Gma Aileen and Sadie got to go bareback riding for the first time.  Even though Gma was leading the horse she was still very excited.  Have I mentioned this girl LOVES horses?

 On the way down the mountain we found a little spot we could "sled" and make snow angels.  Sadie trying to make a snow angel.  The snow had a frozen crust so she couldn't really make a good angel.  So on to the next adventure... The first weekend of November we got to go up to Etna.  While we were there the City of Etna had their annual Veteran's Day Parade. The Wednesday before Halloween was our Church's Trunk or Treat.  I didn't get any pictures of that.  I know shocking!  Sadie had a great time though. We started Sadie in a co-op preschool this year.  There are 6 kids and the parents switch off on having the preschool at their house each week.  In October we decided to have a field trip to the pumpkin patch.  The kids really enjoyed themselves. Here they are studying the pond that is fenced.  Personally I think they were trying to figure out how to get on the other side of the fence.

C.A.L.M. is a small zoo in Bakersfield.  We have annual passes and the girls love to go out there and feed the goats and see the animals.  Well this year they had a Halloween themed event that we decided to attend. I have lost all my photos. I'm completely devastated. I was working on photos when I forgot my harddrive was plugged in and stood up with my laptop. After seeing Dr. Stacey at UCLA they determined they needed to perform surgery on Sadie's right eye to remove the posterior cataract.  So the surgery was scheduled for August 2nd.  (Just three days before we were supposed to do a frozen embryo transfer...more on that later.)  We went down to UCLA the night before since we had to be at the hospital bright and early. Sadie got to go to Gma and Gpa Hildebrand's house and go horseback riding.   This is the first time she's been on a full size horse.  All the times she's gone horseback riding in the past it's been on ponies.  She loved every minute of this.

 We decided this year we were going to get a tent for the summer.  We have a big trip to Etna planned in a few days and we are planning to go camping at least once while we are up there.  So before we loaded everything up Steve being the wise man that he is decided we needed a practice run for putting up the tent.  It was a good idea too.  Sadie had a lot of fun helping her Daddy.

Well today was a big milestone for us. We took Sadie in for an eye exam and it has completely turned my world upside down. Saturday afternoon we headed to West High School for the end of year Bobby Sox Picnic. The girls received their medals for playing and got to bounce in the bouncy house. It was a chilly day so we didn't stay too long but Sadie enjoyed getting her medal and playing with her "softball friends".

Sadie had her last softball game of the season this past week. She is getting much better and actually got a foul tip this time. Here's a video...bare with me it's 6 mins long but it is the highlights of the last game. We got her a tee so we can practice this summer with her cousins. My poor baby. Well it finally happened. She took a spill off of her bed. After we put her to bed we heard a loud thump and then the crying. I went in and found her crumpled on the floor covered in blood. Mainly from her gums. We don't know if she was jumping on the bed and fell off or if she was reaching for the ceiling fan and slipped. Both are common activities for our young adventurer.

This afternoon we loaded up to head to Sadie's doctor for her annual check up. When we got there I hadn't planned on all the things they did this time.They took her blood pressure, did a hearing test and checked her eyes.We found out that Sadie has two slight stigmatisms in her eyes. One of the fun things that we got to do while we were visiting was go to Soap Camp. We got to make soap and bath salts...basically a spa bag full of goodies. Here's the whole group minus Sadie. She didn't make it the entire time as she was in desperate need of a good nap.

We found a great kite at Sam's Club on clearance. It's a 3D frog. Steve had fun flying it.
